I call it my waiting season, but God calls it His work in progress.
There is a time in my life when nothing seems to move the way I expect. Prayers rise daily, yet answers feel delayed. Efforts multiply, but results appear small. I know God is faithful, but my heart still wrestles with questions I do not always say out loud.
In that season, God does not remove us from life. He allows us to live fully inside the waiting. Bills still need paying. Children still need care. Marriage still needs patience. Faith still needs exercise. Every day becomes an invitation to trust Him again, not because circumstances change, but because He remains the same.
I learn that waiting is not punishment. It is preparation.
There are moments I look back and realise how many things God quietly handles while I am focused on what has not yet happened. Protection I never see. Strength I did not know I had. Provision that arrives just in time, not early, not late. Each one whispers the same truth: God is present, even when progress feels slow.
For my family, the waiting season teaches us togetherness. We learn to pray more honestly. We learn to talk, not just about dreams, but about fears. We learn gratitude for simple things, shared meals, laughter, health, and peace at home. These become daily miracles, even when the bigger miracle seems delayed.
God reshapes my heart during this time. He removes the rush. He softens pride. He teaches me to listen more than demand. I begin to see that what I am becoming matters as much as what I am praying for. The waiting trains my character before it carries my blessing.
There are days faith feels strong, and days it feels quiet. On the quiet days, God carries me. On the strong days, He reminds me to stay humble. His mercy meets me in both. Grace covers my doubts without shaming me for them.
I discover that waiting does not mean standing still. It means growing roots. It means trusting God with today, not just hoping for tomorrow. It means believing that when He opens the door, I will be ready to walk through it without fear.
Now, when I look at my waiting season, I do not see wasted time. I see a loving God teaching my family how to depend on Him fully. I see prayers still unfolding. I see promises taking shape. I see mercy written into ordinary days.
And I know this for sure.
When the waiting ends, I will not just celebrate the answer.
I will honour the season that taught me how to trust God with everything.
